(PRWeb) December 15, 2006 -- The Human Capital Institute (HCI), a professional association and educator in talent management strategies, announced today that its second annual National Human Capital Summit, to be held in Phoenix March 19-21, will feature a Pre-Summit Benefit Golf Tournament on March 18 to support expansion of the Human Capital Foundation's Selamta Project in Ethiopia.
The Human Capital Foundation (HCF) is an international charitable organization that provides direct assistance programs to help AIDS orphans and children living in extreme poverty in developing countries. The Selamta (be at peace) Project includes a children's home, sponsorship and reunification programs, a clinic, and the creation of small group homes to accommodate the growing number of AIDS orphans.
Human capital development is critical to the long-term success of an expanding global economy. Corporate growth in the United States and Europe are increasingly bound to the developing workforce and consumer power of today's emerging economies. Yet many of the world's most strategic third world regions face worsening social and economic challenges that threaten their viability over the next decades.
HCI member organizations and dedicated volunteers are committed to help by providing assistance to those least able to cope, in those countries most severely impacted by AIDS and extreme poverty. HCF programs help AIDS orphans; HIV-infected and vulnerable children regain stability, health, and the love of a lifetime family. The Human Capital Institute underwrites operating expenses and donates 10 percent of membership fees to support the Foundation. Participation in the Benefit Golf Tournament will provide direct support for Selamta, where HCF is building a new community model to unite AIDS orphans in Ethiopia with supporting, loving in-country family homes.
