1-800-PetMeds to support Jacksonville Humane Society's Ninth Annual "Fur Ball Gala"

Pompano Beach, FL (PRWEB) May 7, 2008 -- 1-800-PetMeds, the nation's largest pet pharmacy, today announced it will be supporting the Ninth Annual "Fur Ball Gala" in association with the Jacksonville, Florida Humane Society. The gala event, scheduled for May 31 at the University Center Ballroom will host 350 people and their more than 150 animal companions. 1-800-PetMeds will be represented by company Chairman, Bob Schweitzer.

The Jacksonville Humane Society (http://www.jaxhumane.org/) is just one of scores of beneficiaries of the 1800petmeds.com Partner Program, which allows kennels, rescue organizations and shelters to earn commissions for recommending 1-800-PetMeds products and services to pet owners. In exchange for recommending 1-800-PetMeds, the company makes a donation equivalent to 10% of every referred customer's qualifying purchases - on an ongoing basis.

"We are absolutely committed to protecting animals from harm, and keeping them healthy and happy," said Trever Barker, Pet Meds' Partner Program Account Manager. "Through our Partner Program, Pet Meds is on the front line in the war against abused and neglected animals. The Partner Program is making a real difference to rescue organizations and shelters in particular, by providing ongoing donations, and helping more pets in need."

About the Pet Meds Partner Program

As part of the Partner Program (http://www.1800petmeds.com/partner), Pet care professionals or organizations referring new customers to petmeds.com receive a fee or donation equal to 10% of that customer's qualifying purchases as long as the customer continues to purchase from Pet Meds (or until the agreement or program ends). That means if a referred customer buys $100 worth of pet supplies (http://www.1800petmeds.com), petmeds.com pays $10. If the customer comes back in 6 months for a reorder -Pet Meds pays again. In addition, pet care pros and organizations are also eligible for 10% off all of their own personal orders. The threshold to receive commission (or donation) is only $25.

So for example, adding just 10 customers per month (with an average qualifying order size of $80) would generate over $1,000 a month in commissions or donations (which can be used in lieu of commission for non-profit organizations). Partners can access their commission/donation reports online.

Enrollment is simple and can be completed online at

http://www 1800petmeds.com/partner. Qualified pet professionals and organizations create a "referral code" which they can then pass on to their customers. Customers have 4 options for placing orders and supporting their rescue:

1. Call 1-800-PetMeds (1-800-738-6337) and use the referral code.

2. Fax in an order form provided by the Partners with the referral code included.

3.Order online at 1-800-petmeds.com and use the referral code during the checkout process.

4.Click a special link on the Partner's website that includes the reference code ( i.e http://www.1800petmeds.com/partner/PARTNERCODE )
