Birdhouse Pins Donated to Benefit South Shore Habitat for Humanity Annual Fundraiser

Attleboro, MA (PRWEB) March 9, 2008 -- This year, Guyot Brothers, an Attleboro, Massachusetts manufacturer of decorative brass stampings for costume jewelry and the related arts trades, have donated 500 birdhouse lapel pins to the South Shore Chapter of Habitat for Humanity for them to use as they see fit during this year's fundraising effort.

"Viewing the hundreds of birdhouses on display at South Shore Plaza last spring was a feast for the eyes", Andrea Guyot Twombly, Vice-President of the Attleboro company commented. "Every single birdhouse was different and unique, and certainly beautiful. The creativity and talent that was poured into these works of art was festive and filled with a generous spirit", she added.

Nearly 500 people donated their time, talents, and craft treasures to decorate and display the simple pine structures, creating a virtual village of birdhouses for sale, and more importantly, generating thousands of dollars in donations for the Habitat for Humanity's South Shore Chapter. Every birdhouse, from the simplest brightly painted "bird cottage" to the stunningly ornate "bird mansion" sold at auction to the delight of everyone involved.

"The gift of the birdhouse pins is a token of appreciation for the tremendous effort put into the birdhouse sale, and we hope that their 2008 auction is a record-breaking event for the group", Mr. Guyot added. "It is a pleasure to help feed the creative spirit in a way that so greatly benefits others".

The Guyot Brothers website includes a section entitled "100+ Things to do With Jewelry Findings", and decorative birdhouses are a part of that list. Other ideas include Easter gifts, mirror frame accents, golf ball markers, and kaleidoscopes as well as jewelry making. The Effects of Cocaine on the Human Brain
The human brain weighs approximately three pounds and influences everything a person does. You may not realize it, but your brain is not the same today as it was yesterday or last month. The brain is a continuously changing collection of cells. When you learn something new or have a new experience, new synapses form. Some synapses get stronger, or some synapses may even disappear. Your brain even enables you to feel pleasure. Whenever you do something that you enjoy, such as eating your favorite snack, drinking a cold drink on a hot summer day, or laughing with your friends, the reward pathway in your brain is activated. It is that stimulation of the neurons in the reward pathway that makes you feel good. Cocaine acts on the neurons in the...
