Harrisburg, PA (PRWEB) February 2, 2008 -- On January 31, 2008, Keystone Human Services completed the acquisition of Impact Systems, Inc., a Pennsylvania corporation serving individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism and mental illness. Impact Systems will be converted from a private for-profit company to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Keystone subsidiary agency.
Both Keystone and Impact Systems have provided community-based support to individuals and families with intellectual disabilities, autism and mental illness for over 35 years. Impact Systems' regional scope has extended to individuals in Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Lehigh, Luzerne, Perry and Wyoming Counties in Pennsylvania. Through this acquisition, Keystone will construct a comprehensive, regional system of care serving 27 counties, increasing the choice, affordability, accountability, effectiveness and quality of services available to persons served by both organizations.
The expanded system of care will support the Pennsylvania Office of Developmental Programs' commitment to establish choice-driven, statewide systems of care for persons with intellectual disabilities and autism. Both Keystone and Impact Systems are industry leaders in integrative, individualized support, and together they will constitute the largest and most comprehensive provider of community residential services in Pennsylvania.
With over 30 years of service and leadership with Impact Systems, Marcia Reynolds has been appointed president of the new Impact Systems agency. Marcia will also serve as a vice president of Keystone Human Services and will join the organization's senior leadership team. To enhance the agency's connection to family members, business partners, advocates and the community, Impact Systems will develop a nonprofit community leadership board. The transition to nonprofit agency status will provide Impact Systems with access to charitable and foundation funding, grant writing and development, as well as the support of Keystone's sound infrastructure of quality, financial, communication and human resource management systems.
The integration of Impact Systems establishes Keystone Human Services as the largest provider of community residential services in Pennsylvania. Recognizing the new responsibilities this expansion presents, Keystone strives to create the strongest, most cohesive foundation of leadership possible, creating a network of support prepared to face the challenges of the future.
Currently operating in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Delaware, and Maryland, as well as Moldova and Russia, Keystone Human Services is a family of human service agencies working together to serve the community.
