Goleta, CA (PRWEB) October 21, 2007 -- Have you ever needed a favor? Have you ever helped someone who did? FavorsUnlimited.com was designed to create a central location where people can come together to share needs and meet needs. Chris Morency, one of the original founders of
FavorsUnlimited.com, is back with great expectations.
It all started as a take off from a local radio station in California and now FavorsUnlimited.com helps people all over the world. Whether you need a favor or you're willing to lend a helping hand,
FavorsUnlimited.com offers a ready-made cyber community to bring people together. The concept is simple, people post needed favors on the site, and others can grant those favors.
Chris recalls, "Due to time, financial resources and a divorce, we decided to close our site. It was one of the hardest decisions to make since we had already helped hundreds of people all over the
world. I remember reading numerous emails from visitors that said our site had made such a huge impact on their lives. There is no better feeling then knowing you were able to help another person in their time of need."
Shortly after the launch of FavorsUnlimited.com in April of 2000, Yahoo Magazine wrote an article which helped the sites popularity explode. By October of 2000, the site had over 8,000 average daily page views from people all over the world. Locations from many of the visitors included: Japan, South Africa, Chili, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, the UK, Nigeria, Texas, California, Michigan, Oregon, Ohio and all over the world.
Chris states, "It doesn't matter where you're from; we are all human beings who need help at one time or another in our lives. I know I have!"
Outside of the Yahoo Magazine article, FavorsUnlimited.com was launched shortly after the release of the book and movie, "Pay It Forward." The author, Catherine Ryan Hyde was kind enough to put the link on her websites which helped FavorsUnlimited.com gain popularity.
Ms. Hyde comments, "Favors Unlimited is a fabulous site where people Pay It Forward every day. If you are looking for ideas, this is bound to help."
While the founders have gone their separate ways, Chris has joined with one his many friends who helped him through times of need. Doug Kirk, Co-Founder of FavorsUnlimited.com has extensive website design experience and shares the passion in helping others.
Doug states, "I remember discussing the idea of the site with Chris prior to its initial launch. It was an exciting progression from the Do me a favor Friday which was being promoted by a local radio
station. FavorsUnlimited.com really took off, and I was amazed at how many people's lives were touched. There really are a lot of great people in the world, some that just need a little help, and some that are willing to lend a hand to those in need. We look forward to bringing those people together like never before, and cultivating a virtual community where people unite for the common good."
