The Deporter is the real life, "Catch Me If You Can" story of Ames Holbrook, a veteran of Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, otherwise known as ICE. Says, Ensequence Co-Founder and PBS Producer Stephen Lile, "Holbrook is a supremely talented writer & ICE expert, who shares his real life saga, in what could be best described as an entertaining cry for help. Within one week of finalizing our rights acquisition, I got a handful of studio offers for this story. We definitely have something special here, and hope to make an announcement soon regarding a motion picture deal with a major studio."
An ICE office is a highly specialized unit of Deportation Officers (D.O.) whose mission is to detain and remove dangerous criminal aliens?thugs who have already committed a crime and are already on Orders of Deportation. Say's Stephen Lile, "We're not dealing with typical bad guys: Human Smuggling-OUT (sex slaves), Human Smuggling-In (slave labor), Muslim terrorists, individual and organized pedophile rings, Nigerian scammers...just to name a few.
